While most of the Humanitarian Relief Appeal’s (HRA) attention has centered on feeding people over the last eight months, PEACE Punta de Mita has never lost sight of its mission to help educate the 1,300 children of Punta de Mita. In-person schools closed doors in mid-March and by June, PEACE had modified its website to add education portals for online learning.
This year Campeones began on October 12, 2020 online, with 16 new students in the first year of Middle School. They were all selected as a result of an interview process, as they demonstrated outstanding abilities and a keen desire to achieve higher levels of education. They are joining 14 senior students of second and third grade.
PEACE Punta de Mita teachers have been busy creating and uploading K-12 classes to the online platform put together by Programmer and Information Technology Teacher, Ana Orozco for the delivery of English to the communities we so proudly serve.
