This September, PEACE Punta de Mita took important steps to strengthen ties with the schools of Corral del Risco, Emiliano Zapata, and Higuera Blanca. Our visits to both elementary and middle schools allowed us to personally introduce our new Executive Director, Antonio Salgado, and to invite students to join Campeones Jr. and Campeones.
A key milestone took place on September 10, when PEACE hosted a meeting at Campus de Mita with principals and teachers from the elementary schools of the three communities. The session was designed as a space for dialogue and collaboration, giving us the opportunity to present PEACE’s programs, listen to the priorities of school leaders, and explore ways to support one another and we look forward to holding the same type of dialogue soon with local middle schools.
The conversations were constructive and forward-looking. Together, we identified areas of collaboration such as incorporating physical activity classes to promote health and wellness, offering workshops in computer literacy, and reinforcing ongoing school-led health campaigns to maximize impact. By focusing on synergy rather than duplication, PEACE and the schools are creating a foundation for stronger, more effective support for local students.
Welcoming the elementary school leaders to our campus was a meaningful step in building mutual trust and aligning efforts. This renewed collaboration reflects our shared vision: to ensure that every child in our communities has the tools, opportunities, and encouragement to grow and succeed.
