PEACE Prepanet Students Participate in the XIV Mexican Philosophy Olympiad

On September 27, four beneficiaries from the Prepanet program proudly represented PEACE Punta de Mita at the XIV Mexican Philosophy Olympiad (Regional Phase), held at the University of Guadalajara’s Preparatoria No. 8. The event brought together 86 high school students from across the state to reflect, discuss, and write about contemporary philosophical challenges.

Our delegation—Elisa Guadalupe Arreola López, Khatia Kimberly Martínez, Daniel Aurelio Vega Lozano, and Carmen Paola Julián Maximino—was guided by Miss Magdalena Arcadia Soria, tutor of the Language & Communication course and official advisor throughout the event.

The day began long before sunrise with a 4:00 a.m. departure from Punta de Mita and a sense of excitement that carried the group through every moment of the experience. From the welcome ceremony to the essay competition, our students demonstrated discipline, confidence, and passion for learning. Each approached the challenge in their own way—some finishing their essays early, others using every available minute to express their ideas thoughtfully.

Beyond academic results, this experience reflects the growing confidence and intellectual curiosity that our students have developed through the Prepanet program. What begins in the classroom as critical discussion and written reflection is now finding expression in national academic forums—proof that our students are ready to think, write, and lead with purpose.

The official results of this year’s Olympiad will be announced on World Philosophy Day in November. Yet, for us, the most important outcome has already been achieved. Experiences like this allow our students to see firsthand that the education they are receiving is not only meaningful, but also of high quality and competitive at a national level. We are deeply proud of their commitment and the way they represented our community with excellence and confidence. PEACE will continue to encourage these opportunities, ensuring that every student can discover their own potential, believe in their abilities, and take pride in all that they are capable of achieving.

Join us in making Punta de Mita thrive!
