Dear Friends and Families of PEACE Punta de Mita,
I am Dinorah de Haro and I am deeply honored to address you as the new Executive Director of PEACE Punta de Mita, where our mission focuses intensely on creating opportunities through education within our communities. We are committed to empowering the local populations of Punta de Mita, Corral del Risco, and Higuera Blanca to brighter futures, fostering self-sufficiency and community pride in every initiative we undertake.
Yes, I am the new Executive Director, but I am also mom to my son, Pablo. I was born and raised right here in this special place called Nayarit. As a result, I deeply understand our community’s unique challenges as well its immense potential and opportunities. My optimism and energy drive me to passionately address our needs. I am not just from here—I truly understand what it means to be a part of this community and I love it!
Before joining PEACE, I led the Solmar Foundation in Los Cabos Baja California Sur, focusing on social programs that provided long-term solutions for women and children in extreme poverty. This role solidified my belief in the transformative power of community-based educational initiatives. At PEACE Punta de Mita, we are dedicated to driving sustainable community development by facilitating educational programs that cater specifically to the needs of our community. Our CAMPEONES and CAMPEONES JR programs nurture young talents, while SUPERA equips adults with essential English and computer skills. Together they offer a wide array of educational opportunities which aim not only to educate but also to genuinely empower our students to enact positive change within their personal and professional lives, as well as the community at large.
Education is not just a tool but the foundation of sustainable development, and our goal is to make educational opportunities accessible and effective for all members of the communities we serve. This commitment is reflected in every program we design, aiming to instill a sense of belonging and pride in our cultural heritage while preparing for a prosperous future.
I am thrilled to share that we are making significant strides toward the opening of our new PEACE Community Center in partnership with Tecnológico de Monterrey. This relationship is a major step forward on our path to providing top-tier education to our community. We are closer than ever to making this vision a reality and we are excited about the possibilities that this collaboration will unlock for so many in the area.
As we advance, I am open to new ideas and eager to work hand-in-hand with you, our friends, families, and neighbors, to enhance our educational outreach. This journey is one we are on together, and your insights and support are invaluable as we strive to make a lasting positive impact.
Thank you for your continued support. Together, we continue to strive to make PEACE Punta de Mita a beacon of hope and a model for educational empowerment in community development.
With gratitude and anticipation,
Dinorah de Haro
Executive Director
