With great anticipation, we opened the doors to the new PEACE Punta de Mita Campus in an event that offered our donors and friends from Punta Mita a glimpse into the considerable progress at the new school. From the beautiful new classrooms and sizable library to the offices, kitchen, and shaded outdoor space—there is something for all students and teachers alike to enjoy.
In addition to showcasing the new campus, the Sneak Peek also highlighted the three core programs of PEACE: Campeones Jr., tailored for the youngest learners with English classes; CAMPEONES, the flagship program offering English, computer skills, and tutoring to middle school students; and SUPERA, dedicated to supporting education for adults and children who have fallen behind and/or lack basic education. During the event, standout students from each program had the opportunity to engage with donors, exchange ideas about the future, and view the campus first hand.
The progress demonstrated by our students in all three programs was truly inspiring. For instance, in the six months since it began, Campeones Jr. has seen many children mastering basic English. Equally impressive, the number of students enrolled in Campeones has multiplied exponentially since its inception, as has the number of graduates. Most importantly, students from this program have continued their education, obtaining their high school and even university degrees. In addition, the newly established SUPERA-INEA program has already seen seven individuals obtain their basic education certificates.
In a special announcement, Frank Hutto, Director of the Board, informed donors and students of a new collaboration agreement with Tecnológico de Monterrey, one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Mexico. Notably, this partnership marks the first of its kind in the state of Nayarit. This hybrid educational system, happening right here at the brand new Campus de Mita, will give students the opportunity to pursue a top-quality high school education with the support of teachers and tutors from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
With this alliance, PEACE continues to expand its programs. We strive to empower and strengthen individuals and their communities by creating opportunities through education.
