Having recently completed its 8th fiscal year on December 31, 2020, PEACE Punta de Mita reported record donations for two campaigns during the year. Following the Humanitarian Relief Appeal, the joint campaign by PEACE and DINE, from April through August, and the 8th annual PLEDGE FOR PEACE Campaign, held October through December, the Punta de Mita donor community responded magnificently once again to fund PEACE programs in support of the 3 local towns in the Punta de Mita area.
Donors to PEACE take comfort in the high 97 % to 98 % efficiency of managing and moving funds from donors in the USA and Canada to PEACE in Mexico. To earn tax receipts, donors in the USA donate to PEACE USA which is overseen by volunteer Punta Mita seasonal resident Valerie Ewell Armstrong. Operations of PEACE USA is done by a money management firm in Vail, CO, which was arranged thanks to one of the original PEACE founding donors, Jay Precourt, a ‘pioneer’ seasonal resident of Punta Mita. Similarly, in Canada, donors donate to CCSHF, a charity operated by volunteers in Toronto. The cost in 2020 of managing the process of tracking, banking, reporting, receipt issuance, and wiring the funds for CCSHF amounts to 3%, and for PEACE USA, the cost is less than 2%.
Compared to other internationally operated charities, PEACE Punta de Mita stands out with its 97 % - 98 % efficiency factor. Perhaps having more bang for the buck, is just one of the reasons that the PEACE donor community has so consistently and reliably supported PEACE fundraising campaigns. The directors and staff of PEACE Punta de Mita pledge to their donors their commitment to continue providing meaningful and beneficial programs with a high degree of efficiency.
