It’s with pleasure the following announcements are made to enrich and expand the group of volunteers that guides the delivery charitable services to the townspeople of Punta de Mita.
Finance Committee
Gordon Ritchie joined the board of directors in April as the head of Finance and Treasury. Gordon brings a wealth of experience with a broad career of leadership positions in the financial industry in Canada, the United States, and in Europe. In addition, he has given freely of himself serving on various not-for-profit boards, including being past Chair of the United Way of Calgary and past Chair of the University of Calgary.
W. Kurt Hauser joins Mr. Ritchie on the Finance Committee. Kurt has had a storied career as head of an investment management firm, and as a noted economist and author. He has been published in the world’s leading business journals and is past chair of the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. Mr. Hauser has served on boards of multiple charitable causes, and at present is a member of the Punta Mita Operations Committee.
Peter Newton, PEACE Chair Emeritus, recently announced his retirement from the active PEACE board after serving for two years as the head of Finance and Treasury. Peter founded PEACE and led the charity until April 2019. Peter has agreed to stay on the committee, providing his invaluable experience to Mr. Ritchie and the PEACE Chair.
Education Committee
Charlotte Rempfer joins Louise Temerty (Committee Head) and Margaret Isberg (Board Member) as a member of the Education Committee. As a lifelong educator in the Seattle, Washington area, Charlotte has played a vital role in child development as a teacher, a mentor to families, and as a leader in curriculum development. Charlotte was instrumental for making Higuera Blanca High School a reality and is a long-term resident of the Litibu area.
