The PEACE Punta de Mita Board of Directors, at its January 31, 2022 meeting, elected two new directors to the governance team, Kathleen Horner and Mandy Shapansky.

The new director brings a wealth of knowledge to the board having headed and launched divisions of a leading food manufacturer in the United States, to include marketing and strategic planning. Furthermore, she utilized her honed business skills in heading and adding structure to Home Owners Associations, and she presently serves on the Las Marietas HOA. Also at the January Board Meeting, Kathleen was elected Officer and Board Secretary, and brings substantial knowledge of parliamentary procedures to this office. Eventually she will lend her expertise to all PEACE external communications.
Mandy Shapansky
Mandy and spouse, Kerry, have been long term residents in Punta de Mita at Punta Vista Signature, just outside of El Anclote where they are engaged in several restaurant initiatives. Mandy, a Certified Public Accountant by training, is former Chairperson and CEO of a large technology company in Canada where she won national acclaim. With husband and their four children, Mandy has been involved with hands-on international development, beginning more than 20 years ago with the building of a school in Kenya, and then partnered with a micro finance charity to bring loans to underprivileged entrepreneurs. Mandy brings to PEACE many real life experiences to benefit most facets of the charity’s mission, and her initial attention will be directed to the school campus project and the people it serves.
Ron Budacz, PEACE Chair stated, “It’s an honor to have Kathleen and Mandy join our governance team that has distinguished itself over the years by helping those in need. Just as we have added, in recent times, directors skilled in large construction design and management to lead the school campus project, we will continue to augment the team with experienced personnel in adolescent education to help determine what parents desire for their children.”
