Great works of art require great masters and for Campus Mita, it is Manuel Sainz, the civil engineer whose company Casa Alman is building the new state-of-the-art preparatory school. After participating in the tender called by PEACE Punta de Mita AC, Sainz’ proposal was declared the winner from among nine other participants vying for the project. Sainz collaborated with Camila Fuentes Zuñiga, his “right hand engineer,” and Casa Alman to achieve develop this important venture. He has many built properties, including airports, hotels, theaters, and luxury residences, but Campus Mita is his first school. “When I found out about the tender I was thrilled to be a participant in this project, but even more so to be able to see the results and the benefits that it will bring to young people in this community who may one day become engineers like me,” said Sainz.
Manuel Sainz is originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, but has been a resident of Puerto Vallarta for more than 20 years. His passion for engineering led him to become a civil engineer, gaining experience with Grupo Vidanta where he worked for 20 years until starting his own company, Casa Alman. His priority in his projects are quality and customer service—reflected in the walls of the new Mita campus—as well as the well-being and harmony of his employees who still work with him two decades after Casa Alman’s inception. Casa Alman also develops its own real estate projects in San Sebastián del Oeste, Jalisco, where small ranch-style custom homes and cabins are being built.
As a child, the dream of Camila Fuentes Zuniga was to become an architect, but her ease with numbers led her to a career in civil engineering. Today, at just 24 years old, Fuentes, who assisted Sainz in developing the Mita campus proposal, oversees the construction of the new high school with 26 employees working eight hours a day Monday through Friday, and five hours on Saturdays. In describing how he decided to hire Fuentes, Sainz says, “When I hired Camila I realized that she would be the right person to lead the big projects. Although she is very young, her organization, energy, positivity, and responsibility in the field have made her the masterpiece of this construction.”
Both Sainz and Fuentes appreciate the support and professionalism of Frank Hutto, president of the Board of Directors of PEACE Punta de Mita AC; Juan Pablo Stone with Stone Contractors and member of the PEACE Board of Directors; and Diego Martinez, North Shore Realty and Concierge @ The Bay. Their guidance and advice are of great assistance with the overall construction process and its requirements.
