On October 4, school activities resumed in the municipality of Banderas Bay, at the elementary, middle and high school levels.
As schools began to welcome the students into the classrooms, here at PEACE Punta de Mita we carried out a COVID detection day for all teachers. Once it was confirmed that none of the teachers were carrying the virus, class activities began in small groups that alternate their attendance between 2 and 3 days a week. Thus, a hybrid system was implemented in which half of the students continue to receive classes online, and the rest of the group in person.
The safety protocols to be followed are: obligatory use of face masks; temperature taking and hand disinfection at the entrance; socially-distanced work spaces and different recess hours for each grade.
The cleaning and disinfection materials, as well as all the supplies for the return to school, were acquired through the Parents Society, who do their best to manage the few resources they have. COVID tests continue to be carried out in the case of students or teachers who are suspected of being infected.
