On July 10th, the PEACE Punta de Mita A.C. initiative took a remarkable step forward with the launch of the new SUPERA-INGLÉS program, a testament to the power of education and community spirit.
Designed for adults aged 18 and over—mainly working parents from our service communities— the SUPERA-INGLÉS program aims to instill and enhance English language skills. The launch was met with overwhelming interest, surpassing our initial expectations. Two groups of 14 students each enthusiastically joined the program, demonstrating the community's genuine eagerness to learn English as a second language. Such enthusiastic participation allows us to consider further expansion as we secure additional resources. The adult students start at the beginner's level which lasts approximately four months. We anticipate that upon completing this level these graduating students will progress to the next, continually advancing their skills.
The program uses the internationally-acclaimed EVOLVE methodology by the Cambridge series, renowned for its effectiveness in teaching English. Guided by our dedicated teacher, Eduviges who fully oversees the program, students navigate through this proven curriculum. Eduviges has sparked a learning fervor among the adult students with her dynamic and interactive teaching approach.
To accommodate the unique circumstances of our adult learners—many of whom are employed and attend our classes post-work—PEACE's facilities and Eduviges's teaching hours have been moved into the late evening. We applaud the commendable efforts of these courageous, committed students—hard-working adults who have substantial day-to-day responsibilities and commitments as parents and employees. Driven by the prospect of improved job opportunities and a brighter future, they have chosen to further their education and personal development.
The initial success of the SUPERA-INGLÉS program is a testament to the strength of our community. It highlights the potential of individuals when they are equipped with the right tools and opportunities. We are excited to see how these students will employ their new skills to bring positive changes to their lives and the community at large.
Thank you to all who have made this exciting new program possible—the students for their determination, Eduviges for her steadfast commitment, and the community for its unwavering support. Together we are writing a new chapter of empowerment, growth, and prosperity at PEACE. We look forward to the continued success of SUPERA-INGLÉS and to the promising future it ushers in for our community!
